Billing & Customer Management

Invoicing Engine Features

The invoicing engine is the heart of the billing process and includes the following components: calculation, usage rating, taxation, and invoice presentation. Aria offers unsurpassed flexibility in the types of charges it can rate and automates the processes of generating and presenting a consolidated invoice. Invoices can be customized and delivered in a variety of formats.

Calculation

  • Support a wide range of discrete and blended billing scenarios including subscription, transaction and usage-based rating models.
  • Calculate charges automatically via Aria's billing engine and post to the user's account in real time.
  • Bill users for content or service-based offerings in addition to core services.
  • Account for recurring periodic fees and usage-based fees as well as additional fees incurred during the previous billing cycle in each invoice.

Usage Rating

  • Accept metered data feeds in nearly any measurable unit (time – seconds, minutes, hours; data – bit, megabyte, gigabyte; area – inches, feet, miles; etc.).
  • Automatically match metered data with corresponding charge in client's product and service plan catalog for inclusion in an invoice via Aria's rating engine.

Taxation

  • Apply country, state, and federal taxes based upon the billing address of the account.

Currency

  • Support worldwide currency and symbols.
  • Offer customers the option to settle in a currency other than that of the charge itself (this feature is offered by select Payment Processors).

Invoice Presentment

  • Present invoices featuring your company branding and style with Aria's customizable templates.
  • Generate and present invoices for payment based on the user anniversary date or a predefined service billing day.
  • Bill recurring fees in advance of use and usage based fees in arrears.
  • Present invoices according to customer preference in HTML, PDF, or Plain Text format.
  • Generate invoices and/or statements (zero balance) for customers as appropriate.
  • Format invoices in order to comply with market-specific regulation regarding layout and presentment of invoice.
